Miller Freeman, NSGA in alliance

Published on .

San Francisco-Miller Freeman announced a marketing alliance with the National Sporting Goods Association that includes the acquisition of NSGA World Sports Expo, a trade show operated by the National Sporting Goods Association since 1930. Miller Freeman will operate the event beginning in 2000. The NSGA World Sports Expo 99, slated for July 9-11 in Chicago, is unaffected by the agreement. Under the deal, the NSGA will endorse future sports-related shows and conferences to be developed by Miller Freeman. In return, the NSGA will receive a revenue stream from Miller Freeman that will allow the association to concentrate on member issues. Financial details of the deal were unavailable.
