Los Angeles-Mining and metals marketplace Quadrem said Wednesday it has completed its first commercial transactions. Twenty suppliers and 12 buyers conducted business over the exchange as part of a two-day pilot event. Functionalities tested included procurement transactions, auctions and product sourcing, all run on a marketplace platform built by Commerce One Inc. and SAPMarkets. Participating suppliers included: Alpha Trading, AMSTED-Maxion Foundry and Railroad Equipment Company, Atkins Carlyle Group, Blackwoods, Canadian Bearings Ltd., Corporate Express, Crescent Electric Supply Co., Fastenal Co., Ferretería Ferrominera, Finning Ltd., Glenvalve, Hyster, Marmon/Keystone Corp., Motion Industries Inc., National Bearing Service and Tredcor.
