Mining Media International buys three titles from Penton

By Published on .

Denver—Mining Media International confirmed Thursday that it has acquired three titles from Penton Media: Cement Americas, Concrete Products and Rock Products. Penton said the sale was an isolated deal, and none of its other properties is currently on the market. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mining Media was formed in 2003 with the acquisition of Coal Age and Engineering and Mining Journal. Earlier this year, Mining Media acquired Asia Miner, which reaches 14,000 miners in Australia, China, Indonesia and elsewhere in the region. The company also publishes directories and produces events focused on the mining industry.

This acquisition is another in a string of b-to-b media deals that feature smaller, vertically focused companies buying properties from larger, horizontal businesses.
