Mitel buys contact center supplier prairieFyre

Ottawa, Ontario—Phone systems and communications company Mitel Networks has acquired contact center and analytics company prairieFyre Software for about $19 million. prairieFyre, also based in Ottawa, has been a supplier to Mitel. The acquisition provides Mitel with a cloud-based contact center solution as well as cross-sell opportunities for its core Internet protocol telephony and other communications products, Mitel said in a statement. Mitel estimated the contact center market at more than $2.8 billion annually.
