Published on .

New York--Results were mixed in August for business and technology magazines tracked by the Magazine Publishers of America’s Publishers Information Bureau.

The big three business books all posted ad page declines last month, compared with August 2002.

Forbes was down 39.9%, BusinessWeek 13.3% and Fortune 1.2%. The Economist posted a modest 4.1% gain in ad pages. PC Magazine registered a 31.6% jump in ad pages for the month.

Three so-called new economy magazines posted ad page gains: Business 2.0 (49.1%), Wired (43.5%) and Fast Company (2.7%).
