Mobile phone producers plan industry network for mobile e-commerce

Leading mobile phone producers Ericcson, Motorola Inc. and Nokia announced Tuesday a joint effort to develop an open and common industry network for mobile e-commerce. The goal is to produce a unified framework for conducting banking, credit card and other services on the mobile Internet. If the initiative is successful, this framework will be integrated into hundreds of millions of mobile devices in the future, according to a press release.
