Modest advertising and marketing job growth anticipated in first quarter

Published on .

Menlo Park, Calif.—Jobs in the marketing and advertising sector are expected to grow modestly in the first quarter next year, according to the Creative Group Hiring Index for Marketing and Advertising Professionals released earlier this week.

Twelve percent of marketing and advertising executives surveyed said that expected to increase staff levels in the next three months; 8% of those surveyed said they expected declines in staff levels. The increase is up one percentage point over the anticipated hiring for the fourth quarter of this year.

For the survey, the Creative Group, a marketing and advertising staffing firm, conducted 500 telephone interviews with marketing and advertising executives in the fourth quarter.
