Momentum finds Dell strength

Austin, Texas--Brand research company Momentum Research Group said that computer hardware providers have taken a big hit in brand momentum over the last 12 months, with some vendors dropping as much as 33% in purchase intent by executive-level decision makers. Momentum said Dell Computer Corp. , Round Rock, Texas, maintained its lead in its bi-annual survey, which interviews executives on brandconsideration, relevance of specific products and platforms to business strategies, sources of information and brand purchase influence. Others analyzed included Apple, Compaq, Gateway, Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
