Monster scores big at Super Bowl

Published on .

Maynard, Mass.--TMP Worldwide Inc.’s Monster said it received a record number of resumes on the day after it ran an ad on last Sunday’s Super Bowl telecast.

The online recruitment site said 53,510 resumes were posted on the site on Monday. The next day, the site broke its record again as visitors posted 54,047 resumes.

Along with competitor Yahoo Inc.’s HotJobs, Monster has built its brand in large part through Super Bowl advertising. Both companies have run Super Bowl spots for five consecutive years.

“The Super Bowl not only serves as a launching pad for Monster’s new advertising campaigns, but also prompts millions of job seekers to evaluate their careers at the start of the new year, as evidenced by substantial traffic spikes after the game,” said Jeff Taylor, founder and chairman of Monster.
