TechInsights announced that Richard Wallace, VP-editor in chief of TechInsights, will lead the combined global content teams of EE Times and TechOnline. Junko Yoshida, editor in chief of EE Times; Patrick Mannion, editorial director of TechOnline; Richard Nass, editorial director of Embedded Systems; and Peter Clarke, EE Times Europe news director, will report to Wallace.
Forbes.com announced that Tunku Varadarajan, a former Wall Street Journal editor, has joined the company as Opinions Channel editor. Varadarajan recently unveiled a relaunch of the Opinions Channel (www.forbes.com/opinions), which has been expanded with the addition of 16 new columnists.
Michael Klingensmith has been promoted to managing director of advertising and media investment bank AdMedia Partners. He had been a senior adviser to AdMedia since April. Previously, Klingensmith spent 31 years at Time Inc., where he served as general manager of Time worldwide, circulation director of four magazines and as Time's group circulation director. He was the founding publisher and president of Entertainment Weekly and president of Sports Illustrated.
Fairchild Fashion Group, a unit of Advance Publications' Condé Nast, named Ed Hecht as associate publisher-sales at Women's Wear Daily. Most recently, Hecht served as associate publisher of Rolling Stone. He previously worked at Cosmopolitan and Woman's Day.
Carol Hymowitz has joined Forbes as editorial director of the ForbesLife Executive Woman group. In this new position, Hymowitz will have overall editorial responsibility for ForbesLife Executive Woman, which debuted last year. She also will oversee the creation of a ForbesLife Executive Woman Web site. Most recently, Hymowitz was a senior editor and a columnist at The Wall Street Journal.
