Carrigan named president of IDG Communications
International Data Group has promoted Computerworld President-CEO Bob Carrigan to the new position of president of IDG Communications, IDG’s print and online publishing subsidiary. In his new role, Carrigan will oversee Bio-IT World, Computerworld, InfoWorld, Macworld, Network World, PC World, CXO Media and IDG Entertain-ment. He will also oversee IDG List Services, IDG Research and IDG’s national accounts group.
Ziff Davis Media makes three personnel moves
Ziff Davis Media has hired Thomas Rousseau and Eric Danetz as directors of corporate sales. Rousseau rejoins Ziff Davis Media after most recently serving as VP-group publisher of Primedia’s home technology group. Danetz joins Ziff Davis Media after eight years at Network World where he was director of regional sales. Ziff Davis also announced the promotion of Martha Schwartz to senior VP-custom solutions group. Schwartz will add to her current custom conference group responsibilities and manage the custom publishing, contract publishing and business information services product areas.
Richardson appointed GM of Dow Jones Online
Dow Jones & Co. has named Nathan A. Richardson senior VP-general manager of Dow Jones Online, which includes The Wall Street Journal Online, MarketWatch and Barron’s Online. Richardson was previously general manager of Yahoo! Finance. He will report to Todd Larsen, president of Dow Jones’ consumer electronic publishing division.
Watt Publishing creates two new positions
Watt Publishing Co. named Steve Slakis to the new position of VP-director of sales and product development. Slakis was formerly group publisher for Putnam Media’s food publications. Additionally, Clay Schreiber, formerly group publisher of the agrifood group, has been promoted to the new position of director-events and Asian development. Schreiber was succeeded by Roy Leidahl.
`PC World’ taps Green to be associate publisher
International Data Group’s PC World announced the promotion of Susan Green to associate publisher-market development from Western advertising director. In her new role, she adds national responsibilities and special projects.
EDN.com picks Couchois as director-online sales
Reed Business Information’s EDN has promoted Barbara Couchois from Silicon Valley sales manager to director-online sales. She is responsible for sales efforts across EDN’s online products, including EDN.com.
