Jason Young has been named CEO of Ziff Davis Media. Young, who was previously president of Ziff Davis' Consumer/ Small Business Group, succeeds Bob Callahan, who will remain chairman of Ziff Davis. Callahan had been CEO since 2001 and is credited with helping the company stave off bankruptcy.
Marchesano joins Jordan, Edmiston as managing director
Media and marketing veteran Michael Marchesano has been named a managing director at media investment bank Jordan, Edmiston Group. Marchesano announced recently that he was resigning as chief transform-ation officer at Nielsen Co. His new position will focus on the business information services sector, including database products that in the last few years have become an increasingly vital component of b-to-b media.
'Financial Times' taps Zorthian as global circulation director
The Financial Times selected Greg Zorthian to the newly created position of global circulation director. Zorthian will be responsible for growing the print circulation of FT. Since 2004, he has been VP-circulation for the U.S edition of FT. Prior to joining FT, he worked for Forbes Inc. and Time Inc., as well as other media companies.
Ulanoff named editor in chief of PC Magazine Network
Lance Ulanoff was promoted to VP-content and editor in chief of Ziff Davis Media's PC Magazine Network, which includes PCMag.com, Extremetech.com, DL.TV and PC Magazine. Ulanoff was previously editor-reviews for PC Magazine. He takes over for Jim Louderback, who is leaving Ziff to join Revision3 as CEO.
Hanley Wood Marketing hires director of interactive services
Hanley Wood Marketing announced the hire of Sheila Oberaigner as director of interactive services. She will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the interactive team as well as expansion of the agency's interactive capabilities. Oberaigner was previously interactive manager at ResortsandLodges.com.
