Carat—Media agency Carat, New York, has appointed Doug Ray exec VP. Ray was previously senior VP-group director, communications planning. In his new role, he will lead the agency’s Procter & Gamble account in North America and serve as head of communications planning. He succeeds Martin Cass, who was named president of Carat U.S.

McCann—McCann Erickson New York announced that Faris Yakob has joined the agency as exec VP-chief technology strategist. Yakob was previously chief strategist at Naked Communications, New York. In his new position, he will take a leadership role in working with clients to help them develop innovative digital campaigns.

Publicis Modem—Publicis Modem & Dialog, the digital agency of Publicis USA, announced that John Rabasa has been appointed exec VP-managing director of the agency’s San Francisco office. Rabasa was previously VP-product development at ePals, a social networking company. In his new position, he will partner with Mauro Alencar, executive creative director at Publicis Modem & Dialog, to provide creative and strategic leadership at the agency.
