Nationwide plans major expansion of bank and brokerage house marketing program

Columbus, Ohio--Nationwide Financial will expand its bank and brokerage house wholesaler marketing force from 13 people to 20, and has tapped Douglas Mangini as VP-distribution to head the effort. Previously, Mr. Mangini was sales manager-wirehouse strategy. Nationwide, one of the nation's largest b-to-b marketers of mutual funds and variable annuities, will also set up a dedicated operations center to help wholesalers with marketing and product support. Nationwide, which has $80 billion in assets under management, has sold more than $678 million worth of mutual funds and variable annuities through banks and brokerage houses so far this year.
