Seattle--Minneapolis-based Net Perceptions announced late Monday at the DMA net.marketing trade show and conference that it will rent its computer software for creating customer profiles and suggesting products based on behavior. Dubbed GreenLight Go!, the service will allow marketing executives to manage sophisticated customer acquisition and retention activities without involving corporate information technology departments. The service will cost $40,000 for the first three months and $10,000 a month thereafter. It can track a customer's activity on the Web, through call centers and at point-of-sale terminals, said Steve Larson, senior VP-marketing and business development for Net Perceptions. Mr. Larson said business-to-business marketers' interest in personalization is growing rapidly, as manufacturers and retail suppliers look for a competitive edge.
