NewBay Media acquires 'Mix' and other titles from Penton

Published on .

New York—NewBay Media announced Tuesday it has acquired Electronic Musician, Mix, Radio, Sound & Video Contractor and DigitalContentProducer.com from Penton Media. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Prior to this deal, NewBay's most recent major acquisition was the purchase of Broadcasting & Cable, Multichannel News and TWICE from Reed Business Information in December 2009.

Penton has been on both sides of the M&A market in recent months, acquiring Nation's Restaurant News from Lebhar-Friedman Inc. in December 2010 and divesting Rock Products, Cement Americas and Concrete Products to Mining Media International in November 2010.

Separately, Penton announced that it has launched Penton Online Auctions, powered by AssetNation. Penton said the site will initially focus on used agricultural equipment but expand into transportation and public infrastructure equipment by the end of the year.
