News Corp. net income hits $1.1 billion in Q4

New York—News Corp. reported Tuesday net income of $1.1 billion in its fiscal fourth quarter (which ended June 30) compared with $890 million in the same period last year The company’s fiscal net income was $5.4 billion compared with $3.4 billion%. The company also reported revenue of $33 billion for the fiscal year, up 15% from the $28.7 billion reported last year. Dow Jones, which News Corp. acquired last December, contributed operating income of $24 million in the fourth quarter and $45 million for the full year. Additionally, News Corp. said its cable network programming segment reported operating income increased 16% despite losses associated with the launch of Fox Business Network.
