Nielsen acquires Dutch research company

New York—Nielsen Media Research International, a unit of VNU, has acquired BBC De Media en Reclame Bank B.V., an advertising research company based in Amsterdam.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

BBC is the market leader for advertising expenditure data in the Netherlands. The acquisition gives Nielsen additional market intelligence for its global research capabilities.

BBC will remain in Amsterdam and will be rebranded as Nielsen Media Research. The office will be managed by its current CEO-Director Ben van der Werf.
