Nielsen Co. discontinues radio measurement in the U.S.

New York—The Nielsen Co. announced it will end its radio audience measurement business in the United States immediately. BtoB's sister publication, AdAge, noted that the move followed the Dec. 8 announcement of a multiyear agreement between Arbitron and Clear Channel.

Nielsen said archive data will continue to be available. The company will continue its radio measurement operations in the 11 countries it currently serves.
