Nielsen/NetRatings: Financial services companies were top online spenders in June

New York--Financial services companies were among the top online advertisers in June, capturing three out of the top five spending positions, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. The top online advertiser in June was Providian Financial Corp., San Francisco, which spent more than $20.1 million in online advertising during the month. J.P Morgan Chase & Co., New York, spent $16.9 million on online advertising, and Capital One Financial Corp., Falls Church, Va., spent $14.7 million. Other top advertisers in June were Sony Corp. of America, New York, which spent $15.6 million online in June, and AOL Time Warner Inc., which spent $14.1 million on online advertising.
