Nielsen//NetRatings to launch MegaPanel research service

New York--Nielsen//NetRatings announced plans to launch MegaPanel, a research service with more than 1 million Internet users worldwide. The service, which is scheduled to debut in the second quarter of this year, will measure a broad cross section of Internet users to provide insight into their Web usage. Nielsen//NetRatings, a joint venture of Nielsen Media Research and NetRatings Inc., Milpitas, Calif., will use MegaPanel to measure Web site activity and e-commerce transactions. The panel includes Internet users at home, work and universities.
