Nokia appoints Microsoft exec as president-CEO

Espoo, Finland—Nokia announced that Stephen Elop has been named president-CEO, effective Sept. 21. Elop was previously president of Microsoft Corp.’s business division. He will succeed Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, who will leave his position on Sept. 20. Kallasvuo will remain as chairman of the Nokia Siemens Networks. Microsoft has not yet named a successor to Elop.
