Northstar Travel acquires PhoCusWright

Secaucus, N.J.—Northstar Travel Media, publisher of Travel Weekly, has acquired PhoCusWright, a research and event business serving the travel industry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. PhoCusWright founder Philip Wolf will join Northstar and serve as chairman of PhoCusWright, which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Northstar. The PhoCusWright deal is the fifth acquisition for Northstar in the last 18 months. The company has acquired the Nielsen Travel Group, the Home-Based Travel Agent trade shows and ProMedia.Travel and LuxuryTravel 360. “The addition of PhoCusWright provides Northstar with leadership in the fastest-growing segment of travel, tourism and hospitality: the convergence of digital technology and the travel industry,” Thomas Kemp, Northstar's chairman-CEO, said in a statement.
