Secaucus, N.J.—Northstar Travel Media's Travel Weekly is launching the Global Travel Marketplace, an appointment-only event that pairs travel industry suppliers with travel agents in one-to-one meetings. It will debut July 24-26 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Travel agents attending the event will be prequalified, the company said, and the number of attendees will be capped at 125. To be considered, agents must provide travel industry references and have at least $1 million in annual sales. Attendance is fully paid for accepted agents, Northstar said.
“The process of agent selection is critical to the success of this event for the participants and for the suppliers who are investing in it,” said Alicia Evanko, VP-events at Northstar, in a statement.
