Novell invests $100 million in Whittman-Hart

Provo, Utah--Novell announced Thursday that it will invest $100 million in Chicago-based business technology consultants Whittman-Hart. Novell hopes the deal will help build the market among midsize companies for its Novell Directory Services, which are used in e-business applications. The investment is the first step in what Novell calls its strategic services initiative, as computer services become an increasingly important revenue stream for hardware and software companies.
