During his two-year tenure as the company's marketing chief, Mr. Slitz emphasized public relations and oversaw Novell's foray into brand advertising on television. He leaves on a high note: In Novell's fiscal third quarter, which ended July 31, the company reported revenue of $327 million, a 20% increase from the same period in 1998.
