Omnicom acquires Kern Organization

New York—Omnicom Group has acquired the Kern Organization, a direct marketing agency, for an undisclosed sum, BtoB has learned.

The agency will become a sibling company to Rapp Collins Worldwide, according to sources.

With the deal, Rapp Collins gains a sibling regarded as an expert in customer acquisition for both b-to-b and consumer marketer clients. Rapp Collins is known for its loyalty and retention marketing work on behalf of clients.

Separately, Rapp Collins named Bob Horvath global CEO. He was previously CEO-North America for the agency. He succeeds Gary Von Kennel, who will leave Rapp, but "will remain active within the organization over the next several months, seeing through to completion several strategic initiatives undertaken on his watch," according to a news release.
