Online ad revenue in Q3 nears $8 billion

New York—Internet ad revenue in the U.S. reached $7.9 billion in the third quarter, up 22% over the year-earlier period, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The increase marks the eighth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth for U.S. online advertising, IAB said. “Even with a softened economy, digital advertising is making tremendous gains,” said David Silverman, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, which produced the report.
