Online ad spending down last month

New York--Online ad spending was down in February, the first month-to-month drop since August 2000, according to a report from research firm AdZone Research Inc., released Thursday. AdZone said total online ad spending-from both business-to-consumer and b-to-b advertisers-in February was $1.77 billion, down 5% from January. The No. 1 site in February was Amazon.com, which has some b-to-b advertisers, with ad revenues of $31.3 million, according to AdZone.
