Online and e-mail newsletters up sharply over last five years

New York—The number of online and e-mail newsletters jumped to 6,429, from 1,576, over the past five years, according to the 2010 edition of the Oxbridge Directory of Newsletters, which will be released Monday.

The directory found that petroleum newsletters increased 107% over the past five years, jumping to 242 from 117. Nutrition newsletters jumped 92%, increasing to 71 from 37.

“Most new launches take advantage of the e-mail or online formats to conserve capital and respond quickly to new niches in the marketplace,” Trish Hagood, president of Oxbridge Communications, said in a statement.
