Redwood City, Calif.—Database management technology company Oracle Corp. has announced
plans to acquire Endeca Technologies, whose technology analyzes unstructured data, such as in emails, as well as structured data in support of database marketing and customer service. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Endeca acquisition follows Oracle's July purchase
of InQuira, a knowledge management technology company. Both deals are expected to improve mining for related data in support of Oracle's Siebel CRM application, as well as online customer experiences.
The Endeca deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
