Oracle acquires Nimbula to boost cloud services

Santa Clara, Calif.—Oracle Corp. has acquired cloud management company Nimbula Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Mountain View, Calif.-based Nimbula, founded in 2010, develops “cloud orchestration” software designed to enable companies to build, manage and deploy software-as-a-service applications, an area Oracle has been rapidly developing through other acquisitions. In December, Oracle acquired marketing automation company Eloqua Inc. to form the centerpiece of its Marketing Cloud offerings.
