Published on .

Redwood City, Calif.—Oracle Corp. has acquired BigMachines Inc., whose cloud-based technology automates sales orders to help salespeople assemble and price complex orders and arrive at optimum quotes. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Business Insider reported that the deal was for more than $400 million. BigMachines' technology will be combined with Oracle's other cloud solutions, including marketing, sales, social marketing, commerce and customer service technologies. The acquisition of Deerfield, Ill.-based BigMachines is expected to enable Oracle customers to automatically determine the pricing of complex products; select the best options, promotions and deal terms; and include upsell and renewal elements, Oracle said in a statement.
