Oracle adds languages to social listening tool

Published on .

Redwood City, Calif.—Oracle Corp. has added Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Spanish to the list of languages supported by its Social Engagement & Monitoring listening product. The product now supports such major social sites as China's Sina Weibo and the Latin American sites Reclame Aqui and Vostu. Oracle's social tool, now available in 31 languages, features latent semantic analysis in multiple languages, allowing users to more clearly understand the content of social media messages, the company said in a statement. Earlier this month Salesforce.com Inc. announced plans to point its Radian6 social listening application toward Sina Weibo as well as Russia's VKontakte social site to analyze customer sentiment in those countries.
