Oracle tallies exchange success

Redwood Shores, Calif.--Oracle Corp. Tuesday said it has signed up 3,000 companies for its OracleExchange.com service, a broad horizontal Web-based exchange featuring indirect and maintenance, repair and operations-type goods. The exchange has been in operation for about 9 months. Oracle said it has more than 7,600 suppliers listed on the marketplace, and overall it has conducted 950 auctions resulting in $1.3 billion in transactions. OracleExchange.com is targeted mainly at small and midsize businesses that want the ease of use of a Web-based service.
