Durango, Colo.—Research firm Outsell projects 9% to 10% revenue growth this year for IT and telecom research services, based on strong first-quarter earnings reports from companies in the sector.

For the first quarter, Gartner reported revenue of $290.1 million, up 9.8% over the same period last year. Forrester Research reported first-quarter revenue of $55.0 million, up 16.2% from a year earlier.

“The high-tech sector that the ITTRRS [IT & Telecom Research, Reports & Services] companies serve continues to do well and is not showing signs of a down market,” wrote Louise Garnett, VP-lead analyst at Outsell.
