Burlingame, Calif.—The information industry will reach $358 billion by 2008, according to a new research report from Outsell. The report, “FutureFacts: 2006 and Beyond,” is a forecast of trends and drivers fueling the information industry. Outsell projects strongest growth for the search, aggregation and distribution services segment of the information industry, with a projected 17% growth rate over the next three years. This segment is driven by search companies including Google and Yahoo! The second strongest growth segment is market research, reports and services, projected to grow at an 11.6% rate over the next three years. This segment is led by companies including Greenfield Online, Health Grades and MarketResearch.com, Outsell said.
