Outsell reports on SMB online information use

Published on .

Burlingame, Calif.—The best way to reach small and midsize businesses is through the Web, according to a study from research firm Outsell.

Outsell surveyed 2,800 professionals from small (fewer than 100 employees), midsize (100-999 employees) and large businesses from a variety of industries to find out more about their online information needs.

The study found that 77% of small company users and 70% of midsize company users go to the Web first when seeking information.

Outsell said the best way to reach the SMB market is through self-service options, including transactional sales of unbundled information or ad-supported content subscriptions.
