Packaged goods giant Procter & Gamble Co., Cincinnati, tapped vendor Aspect Development Inc., Mountain View, Calif., for helping in managing its MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) purchasing. P&G purchasers will use Aspect's eOperate software to automate their indirect procurement processes. The software will be integrated with P&G's SAP R/3 platform, the company's enterprise resource planning backbone. The procurement of MRO goods includes such non-production items as office supplies and computers, as well as items that keep P&G plants running, such as motors, pumps and compressors.
