Nielsen//NetRatings report shows traditional advertisers lead online growth

New York—Traditional advertisers continued to lead the growth in online advertising in the first quarter, according to Nielsen//NetRatings.

According to the Nielsen//NetRatings AdRelevance ad tracking service, AT&T Wireless Services increased ad impressions online by more than 1,000% in the first quarter compared with the same period in 2003.

Online ad usage by pharmaceutical company Schering Plough jumped by 737% in the first quarter, while MBNA Corp.’s online ad impressions rose 471%.
