Pandesic closes its doors

Published on .

Sunnyvale, Calif.--Intel and SAP today said they are shutting down Pandesic L.L.C., Sunnyvale, Calif., their high-profile e-commerce platform provider. Pandesic was a high-profile failureÏit landed about 100 customers, none that could be considered a breakthrough. Though the vendor had focused mainly on business-to-consumer opportunities, it had of late made a hard pitch for b-to-b business. For SAP, it's another stumble in the move from enterprise resource planning (ERP) to e-commerce, and casts even more scrutiny on its marketplace efforts with Commerce One.
