New York—“Nightly Business Report,” a program produced by PBS affiliate WPBT in Miami, was acquired Wednesday by NBR Worldwide, a privately held company. “Nightly Business Report,” which has been aired for more than 30 years, is carried by about 250 PBS affiliates and reaches about 500,000 viewers nightly.

NBR Worldwide said it plans to expand the “Nightly Business Report” brand via social media, new distribution arrangements, licensing and by launching www.NBR.com, a new companion website to www.PBS.org.

“We are extremely excited about expanding the opportunities available with the program while at the same time fully preserving and maintaining the mission and tradition of education and quality news reporting that have made both ‘Nightly Business Report’ and PBS such great successes,” Mykalai Kontilai, chairman-CEO of NBR Worldwide, said in a statement.
