Austin, Texas--Business-to-business software and content provider pcOrder.com said Tuesday that it has landed 15-year Intel veteran Tim Dowling to manage its strategic identity and open new markets. Previously e-commerce marketing director at Intel, Dowling takes the post of VP-marketing at pcOrder.com, Austin, Texas. The move is a plum assignment. pcOrder.com has created software that enables computer companies to automate their sales and distribution functions. As such, it is one of the more advanced supply-chain facilitators on the market. Also, pcOrder.com distributes content of interest to computer executives, as a means to drive traffic to its site. Customers include Compaq Computer Corp., GE Capital, Hewlett-Packard Co., Inktomi and a number of the computer industry trade publishers.
