Penton Media plans to cut 7% of its work force

Published on .

New York—Penton Media plans to cut 120 jobs, or 7% of its work force, as it consolidates some shared services following its acquisition last month by Prism Business Media. Some employees have been given the option of relocating, said Lee Feldman, a spokesman for Penton. Under the restructuring, the audience/circulation, IT and production departments will be consolidated in the company’s Overland Park, Kan., office, while the corporate communications, finance and accounting departments will be consolidated in the Cleveland office. Prism adopted the Penton name following the closing of the deal.
