Cleveland -- Penton Media Tuesday reported a first-quarter net loss of $2.8 million, or 12 cents a share, compared with a net income of $2.3 million, or 11 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. The loss was attributed primarily to costs associated with recently acquired Internet trade shows and increased interest and amortization expenses. Penton posted first-quarter revenue of $58.3 million, up 11% from $52.5 million a year earlier.
