Penton reorganizes into market-focused groups

New York—Penton Media announced that CEO Sharon Rowlands, who joined the organization in October, has realigned the company into five larger umbrella groups. The groups are: industry; agriculture, food and marketing; lifestyle; technology; and financial services.

“This will organize Penton logically for our customers (content users, advertisers and attendees), employees and partners,” Rowlands said in a statement.

The new structure means that digital operations will no longer be a separate group and will be a function folded into each market-focused group. As a result of this change, Shawn Etheridge, senior VP, and Jim L’Heureux, senior VP-digital, are leaving Penton.
