Penton reports success of roadblock ad campaigns

Published on .

Loveland, Colo.--Penton Media Inc. announced successful results from its recently launched "roadblock" ad campaigns on Windows and .NET Magazine Network.

Average click-through rates for the campaigns ranged from 9% to 25%, compared with industry average click-through rates between 0.2% and 0.6%, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

Roadblock ads are full-screen ads that hold the user's attention for up to 20 seconds, although the user can leave the ads at any time.

Penton launched the roadblock ads in April in the form of house ads for its Security Road Show events.
