Cleveland—Penton Media Tuesday reported 2005 revenue of $193 million, down 1% from $195 million the previous year.
Penton said the decrease was mainly due to declines in print products as well as the shuttering of underperforming products, including Wireless Systems Design and ePro magazines.
The company posted a net loss of more than $8 million for 2005, compared with a loss of $67 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) grew 21% to $41 million, from $34 million.
Print revenues totaled $134 million, down 5% from $141 million in 2004. Event revenue grew 6.3% to $40 million, from $38 million in 2004. Online revenue rose 18% to $18 million, from $16 million in 2004.
