Penton shutters ‘Wireless Systems Design,’ acquires Power Database

Published on .

Paramus, N.J.— Penton Electronics Group, a unit of Cleveland-based Penton Media, announced Monday that it will discontinue Wireless Systems Design. The March issue was the last for the publication.

The electronics group said Electronic Design and Microwaves & RF and related Web sites will include additional editorial coverage of developments in the wireless sector.

The electronics group also announced that it has acquired Davis Marketing Communication’s Power Database, an online database of power semiconductors and power supplies.

Jason Brown, e-media product manager for the electronics group, said in a statement, "It will serve as the foundation of an online global resource for design engineers dealing with power management. Electronic Design’s plans to integrate this database into the electronicdesign.com Web site further establish the Penton Electronics Group as a leading authority in power management resources and information."
