Loveland, Colo.--Penton Media’s Windows & .NET Magazine Network announced that 82% of Microsoft operating systems users it surveyed plan to increase or maintain spending.

Last year, Penton’s “IT Industry Trends” research indicated that 75% of those surveyed planned to increase or maintain spending. Fifty-one percent said they planned to upgrade their desktop operating systems within the next six to 12 months, and 57% plan to upgrade their operating system in the same time frame.

“Our 'IT Industry Trends' research has predicted an uptick in the market since last year, and the outlook is becoming even more optimistic,” said Kim Paulsen, group publisher of Penton IT Media’s Windows & .NET Magazine Network, in a statement.
